On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the City of Virginia Beach will close Virginia Beach Boulevard at Cypress Avenue for a long-term construction project. The Routes 20, 33, and 960 will operate on a detour until further notice. Customers needing board/disembark for the Routes 20 and 960 must go the 19th & Parks lineup (adjacent to the Virginia Beach Convention Center). Customers may also see delays due to traffic.

There will be numerous street closures along the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, March 21-22, 2026, for the Shamrock Marathon, Half Marathon, and 8K.
Saturday, March 21
Due to the Shamrock 8K, the Route 960 will detour, 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Customers should also expect delays with the Route 20 due to increased congestion. Both routes are currently on a long-term detour already due to the Virginia Beach Boulevard and Cypress Construction.
