On Memorial Day, Hampton Roads Transit bus, light rail, Naval Station Norfolk Base Express, ridesharing services, and paratransit will operate on a Saturday schedule. The ferry will operate on its regular summer weekday schedule.
Transit center information booths and administrative facilities (ID card, Lost & Found, etc.) will be closed. Customer Service will be available via phone from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The Portsmouth Memorial Day Parade will take place along High Street on Monday, May 25, 2026. Due to road closures, the lineup for downtown Portsmouth will be moved to Wythe Street and Court Street (adjacent to the WAVY-10 building) from 9:30 AM until 12:30 PM. The routes 41, 45, 47, 50, and 980 will detour as follows:
