On Saturday, July 5 from 7 a.m. until around noon, there will be road closures in Bowness to accommodate the Bowness Stampede Parade. Route 40 will be detoured.

- South on 49 Street N.W.
- West 16 Avenue N.W.
- North on Sarcee Trail N.W.
- West 34 Ave NW, stay on 34 Avenue N.W. / 77 Street N.W.
- West 36 Ave NW
- North on 79 Street N.W.
- West Bowness Road N.W.
- North on 79 Street N.W.
- West on 46 Avenue N.W., to regular route
Eastbound:
- East on 46 Avenue N.W.
- South on 79 Street N.W.
- East on Bowness Road N.W.
- South on 79 Street N.W.
- East on 36 Avenue N.W.
- South on 77 Street N.W., stay on 77 Street N.W. / 34 Avenue N.W.
- South on Sarcee Trail N.W.
- Exit onto 16 Avenue N.W.
- North on 49 Street N.W.
- East on Bowness Road N.W., to regular route

Starting Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 6 a.m. through Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 6 p.m., 3 Avenue N.W. at 34 Street N.W. will be closed for construction. Routes 1 and 40 will have a temporary stop closure.
